The Curse of Dracular - Trailer

This is a trailer for my most recent project, a short film called The Curse of Dracular.

I made this film independently for my final year at Norwich University of the Arts, based on a story my Dad wrote when he was a child. He discovered it a few years ago after finding a collection of his old schoolwork that my Grandmother had kept over the years. Upon reading the story, it became clear that it was heavily inspired by the classic Hammer Horror films he would catch late at night as a child. We both found his story hilarious, and I thought it would be the perfect basis for an animated short film.

This claymation film is the culmination of months of work, and was filmed primarily in my dining room. It has since won two awards from the RTS East Student Television Awards and was awarded Best Stop Motion (sponsored by Aardman) at Animation Dingle.

All of the animation, puppets, props and sets were made by myself. It’s a big step up in technicality for me so I’m very excited to see what people make of it. The film is still being entered to film festivals, but I hope that I’ll be able to make the film public before the end of the year.
